Most pages that answer this question answer it for dogs and quietly leave out everything else. This one covers every animal people actually ask about, including the ones where the answer is no.

The four rules that apply to every animal in the yes column
THC-free, with a certificate that proves it. Animals do not process THC the way people do, and THC exposure is a well-recognised reason pets end up in emergency veterinary care. Not “hemp-derived,” which tells you nothing about THC. Not “under the legal limit,” which is a human standard.
A product made for animals. Human tinctures are built for a human body, and some contain xylitol, which is dangerous to dogs.
Your vet knows, especially if the animal takes any medication. CBD shares liver enzyme pathways with a large share of common drugs.
Nothing here replaces veterinary care. An animal with a treatable condition that goes undiagnosed while an owner works through supplements has been harmed by the delay, whether or not the supplement caused anything.

Three things this site will tell you that most will not
The evidence is thinner than the industry it supports. Mammals have an endocannabinoid system, which is established. That is not the same as demonstrated benefit, and most marketing moves between the two in a single sentence.
Competition horses cannot have CBD. USEF has treated cannabinoids as a violation since 2019, CBD included, and almost nobody selling equine CBD mentions it.
A pet goat is still a food animal. Legal classification follows the species, not the living arrangement, and that applies to mini pigs in houses too.
