Lab Testing & Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
CBD is still a young, largely unregulated industry at the federal level. That means it's entirely possible to buy a CBD product with no idea what's actually in the bottle or what isn't. We think that's unacceptable. From our very first batch, we've believed that what's not in your product matters just as much as what is. That's why every hemp extract we use and every finished product we sell is tested by an independent, accredited lab before it ever reaches you, and why we publish the results for anyone to see.
Our Testing Partners
We work with two of the most respected names in cannabis and hemp testing: Anresco Laboratories and SC Labs. Both are ISO/IEC-accredited, independent testing facilities, meaning they have no financial stake in whether our products pass or fail, and they meet internationally recognized standards for laboratory competence.
Anresco, based in San Francisco, is one of the most established food and cannabis testing labs in the country. SC Labs is a longtime pioneer in cannabis testing, known for rigorous standards across the industry.
We don't choose our labs based on convenience, we choose them because we want the truth about our products, whatever it is.
What We Test For
Our cannabis products are batch-tested: every single final batch goes through a full panel of tests before it's approved for sale.
On the hemp side, we test every individual ingredient and have tested and validated our formulation methods to ensure they are consistent and reliable.
Here's what we screen for across both lines:
Cannabinoid Potency
Confirms the actual CBD, CBN, and THC levels in the product match what's on the label. No guessing, no rounding up.
Pesticides
Screens for residues from cultivation to make sure nothing unwanted made it from the field into the final extract.
Heavy Metals
Checks for lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury, which hemp plants can absorb from soil and water.
Mycotoxins
Tests for toxic compounds produced by mold that can grow on plant material if it isn't handled correctly.
Residual Solvents
Confirms that any solvents used during extraction have been properly purged, leaving nothing behind that shouldn't be there.
Microbial Contaminants
Screens for harmful bacteria, yeast, and mold to make sure the finished product is clean and safe to use.
For our cannabis products, if a batch doesn't pass every one of these tests, it doesn't go out the door. For our hemp products, every ingredient is independently verified and our formulation processes have been validated for consistency, so you can trust what's in the bottle.
How to Read a COA
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) can look intimidating if you've never seen one, but here's what to look for:
Batch Number
Matches the batch number on your product's label, so you know the COA you're reading actually corresponds to what's in your hand.
Cannabinoid Profile
A breakdown of the CBD, CBN, THC, and other cannabinoid levels found in that specific batch.
Pass / Fail Results
Clear results for each contaminant panel (pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins, solvents, microbials). You want to see "pass" across the board.
Lab Accreditation Info
Confirms which lab performed the testing and their accreditation status, so you know the results are credible.
