Best CBD Brands Made in California (2026)

Proof publishes this list and ranks its own product first. We explain how we chose every pick, and you can check each brand's lab results yourself.

The best California-made CBD brand is one that says, on its own website, that it makes its products in California, and then backs up the product with a lab report you can open. Plenty of brands use California in their story. Far fewer say where the bottles are actually filled.

We found four brands that clear that bar: Proof in Sonoma County, Neurogan in San Diego, CBD Living in Corona, and Sisters of the Valley in Merced. That is a short list on purpose. We would rather show you four brands we could check than pad it with names we could not.

Proof comes first because this is our list, and we say plainly where others do more than we do. Where a product is made tells you nothing about what it does, and CBD is not a treatment for any condition. If you take medications, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using CBD.

How we chose

1. A made-in-California statement on the brand's own site. A California address, "grown in California," or "created in California" was not enough. We quote each brand's claim below.
2. Still operating and selling hemp CBD on 23 Sep 2026.
3. Public lab results, with the THC result and date from a COA we read.
4. Report scope: potency only, or contaminant panels too, and on what material.
5. Price: the one-time price listed on the brand's site on 23 Sep 2026, for the size noted.

Several well-known California names were left off. Some have closed or stopped selling CBD: one moved its operations to Canada, one is closing its CBD store before the new federal hemp rules, one now sells probiotics and vitamins, and one site now points to an unrelated company. Others are still selling but did not meet our first rule: their sites say "Made in the USA," say the hemp is grown in California, or give a California address without saying where products are made, or they describe a California facility on one page and a Colorado base on another. Two long-running Northern California brands fell into this group, one with a lab report from 2020 that did not match its label.

A note for California shoppers: some national brands limit what they sell here. During our research, Extract Labs showed California shoppers a separate "State Approved Product Collection," and Lazarus Naturals redirected California visitors to a restricted collection page. Federal Section 781 also takes effect 12 Nov 2026, capping total THC at 0.4 mg per container. As of September 2026, we do not predict how any brand will respond, and this is not legal advice.

1. Proof CBD Comfort Drops

Proof is a women-owned company in Sebastopol, in Sonoma County, making CBD products since 2016. The headline on our about page reads "Women-Owned, Sonoma County-Made CBD Wellness." Co-founder and CEO Sarah Miletich holds a BS in Organic Chemistry and formulates and quality-checks every batch; co-founder Julie Mercer has been a licensed California cannabis attorney since 2015.

Our flagship, CBD Comfort Drops, is a broad-spectrum hemp extract in MCT coconut oil: 1,000 mg of CBD per 15 ml bottle, listed at $35. Its SC Labs COA (Santa Cruz, California; ISO/IEC 17025), dated 15 May 2025, shows 1,027 mg total CBD and total THC not detected. That report covers potency and microbials; the full contaminant panels are posted for the raw CBD distillate (KCA Laboratories, November 2025). All reports are on our lab testing page. Good fit if: you want a small, founder-run Sonoma County maker with THC not detected on every finished product.

Not the best fit if: you want a full-spectrum option, a wide range (we make four products), or a finished-product COA newer than May 2025 that includes contaminant panels. Neurogan's finished-product report covers more than ours does.

2. Neurogan Broad Spectrum CBD Oil 2000mg

Neurogan's claim is the most specific we found: "Every batch is carefully crafted in our own San Diego facility using CO2-extracted, US-grown hemp. ... Each CBD tincture for sale is made in our San Diego facility, third-party tested, and backed by a COA." Note the wording: made in San Diego, from US-grown hemp.

Its broad-spectrum oil has 2,000 mg of CBD in 1 oz, listed at $55. The finished-product COA we read (Infinite Chemical Analysis Labs, San Diego, 3 Apr 2025) covers potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins, pesticides, and foreign matter, all Pass, with total THC not detected and 2,070 mg of total CBD.

Good fit if: you want a full contaminant panel on the finished bottle and a lower price per mg.

Not the best fit if: you want a report newer than April 2025.

3. CBD Living CBD Oil Tincture 1500mg

CBD Living, headquartered in Corona, says in its FAQ: "The CBD makes its way to CBD Living's facility in Corona, Calif. ... A majority of the products are made in-house. Others are manufactured through contract manufacturers." That candor is useful: not every product is made in Corona, so ask about the one you buy.

Its broad-spectrum nano tincture is listed at $69.99 for 1,500 mg. The test results include a July 2026 COA for this tincture (Infinite Chemical Analysis Labs), the most recent report on this list, showing total THC not detected and 1,630 mg of CBD. We viewed only its first page, so we cannot confirm which contaminant tests the rest covers. CBD Living also sells THC products, so check which line you are buying.

Good fit if: you want a very recent COA and a high-strength broad-spectrum oil.

Not the best fit if: you want a brand that sells hemp CBD only, or every product made in-house.

4. Sisters of the Valley CBD Tincture

Sisters of the Valley is a women-led sisterhood whose site says: "crafting handmade, plant-based CBD at our enclave on 3144 G Street in Merced, California. ... Made in Merced: we are not shipping in from somewhere else." Its tincture is a whole-plant hemp extract in food-grade alcohol, about 250 mg per 1 oz bottle, listed at $30.86.

Its lab test results are listed by moon cycle, with SC Labs as the lab. The tincture COA we read (August 2024) is potency only and shows 305 mg of CBD and 9.324 mg of total THC per bottle. That is above the 0.4 mg per container cap in Section 781, effective 12 Nov 2026. The newest report on the page when we checked was from February 2025.

Good fit if: you want a handmade, small-batch alcohol tincture and are comfortable with THC.

Not the best fit if: you want to avoid THC, you are drug tested, or you want a recent report with contaminant panels.

FAQ

Does "made in California" mean the hemp was grown in California?

Not necessarily. Neurogan, for example, says it makes its oil in San Diego from US-grown hemp. Where a product is made and where the hemp grew are separate questions, so ask the brand both.

Is California-made CBD safer?
